It may seem a bit early to begin thinking about Christmas decorations and lights, but not here in Ocean City, MD! We’re beginning to feel the holiday spirit as the town is seasoned with wreaths, lights, and other beautiful eye-catching decorations. When you think about it, the holidays really aren’t too far away and there are so many exciting events taking place in town soon. We hope you’re ready to get into the holiday spirit because we sure are!
Winterfest of Lights will be celebrating it’s 25th Anniversary this year! So head up to Northside Park on 125th Street for this gorgeous light display. This is a well-known and loved event here in town and this year will take place November 16th-December 31st. Hours of operation are 5:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 5:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. After viewing this spectacular sight, grab a hot chocolate to sip on, and don’t forget to get your photo with Santa! Tickets are $5 for children 12 years and older, with free admission for those 11 and younger. Make sure you dig all of those layers out and bundle up. It can get a bit chilly!
Another fun family event in Ocean City is the Light Up Downtown Festival! This event takes place on November 18th from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. on the boardwalk at the Inlet. There will be a tree lighting, vendors, holiday shopping, kids crafts, games and prizes, gift drawings, and of course a visit from the infamous man in the red suit…Santa! It’s going to be tons of fun, so come on out and have an awesome time.
Along with the holidays comes A LOT of shopping, so head on over to the Holiday Shoppers Fair! Admission is only $3 and there will be a food court and door prizes. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on November 24th & 25th and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. November 26th. You’ll most definitely score some amazing gifts at this event such as candles, photography, florals, jewelry, ceramics, and more!
Additionally, there will be a Holiday Artisan Fair at the Art League of Ocean City December 1st from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. and the 2nd from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Enjoy strolling through jewelry, glass ceramics, and more. Book signings, refreshments, and live music will take place at this event. This the perfect opportunity to shop early on so you can avoid those crowded stores in the next few weeks to come.
And don’t forget the 34th Annual Ocean City Christmas Parade will be held in uptown Ocean City on Saturday, December 2nd at 11 a.m. From high school bands, to horses, to antique cars, and fantastic floats, the parade will be extraordinary! You won’t want to miss it!
